2 job offers

So I got two job offers and now I'm waiting on my background check. I'm worried because I was arrested a year ago but haven't been convicted or not even gone to a single court. Should a non convicted arrest show on a background check?

So the thing is that UPS in only part time as needed. 3 days a week or less maybe more. That why I wanted another part time job. Hopefully UPS becomes a full time job for me fingers crossed

So UPS does have a friendly second chance hiring practice. That's very good to hear. 2 pending offers is Awesome Jose. Good idea to hold on to whomever extends a job offer first. UPS is a hard company to get into but the company benefits and career progression opportunities are excellent if you're able to excel. Congrats & Good Luck with your decision. Keep us posted!

It may. Most courts report arrests in the same way they report convictions. The reports usually include Arrest/Non-Convictions, Pending Cases, and Arrests/Convictions. They typically report arrests/pending/convictions for the previous 7 years. Some states, like California, have laws that say companies can't use arrest records to exclude candidates. Depends on the state. In any event, you should be prepared to discuss the arrest and have a good explanation of why it happened, what you've learned from the experience & what you're actively doing to make sure you avoid that situation in the future. That way, you're prepared if they ask.

Hi Jose,

This topic was actually brought up a few days ago. I believe the final word of that situation was that a background check will reveal the pending allegation. Your employer will in the end make their decision on what they do with this information.
