Starting again
I left my state job 5 years ago to care for my children. I am 45 years old and looking and applying for jobs with no success. I am either under qualified or over qualified. I do hot fit in anywhere. I have not become discouraged :)
Your credentials are impressive! Try thinking outside the box. You have much to offer maybe as a therapist or counselor, day care, foster care, children's group homes and the like. Your skills combined with your determination and positivity make you marketable. You may even want to start your own business. You're a very strong woman, I'm rooting for you!
Hi Nedra: I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties getting back to work! I know I sent you a list of jobs that you might want to apply to - did you have any luck with that?
I also left my state job 5 years ago. Trying to get back with them is nearly impossible. I'm 60 so I understand.
