New, but old job...

I got laid off back in 2018, due to a project drop, via the company that i had worked for previously. I had medical problems, as well so they let me leave on good terms back in 2007, the first time. I can't seem at my age, to find ANOTHER job, but I'm good at technical support. And it's the only job, in which i can handle. I want to go back to restaurant work so badly, but my doctor said NO. Due to my back issues. I can however, handle technical support, and the money is really good.

Here's the kicker, I said I would NEVER go back. Because, of what my old SUPERVISOR, did on our last day of work. He used scare tactics, to threaten to call the cops, if we weren't on the phone, and legal department, as well. We were taught in training that no one, would EVER be able to contact legal, except attorney's. I said, Im reporting your power of abuse, and I will NEVER come back.

Evidently, this company still likes me, and wants me back. As I have a interview tomorrow at 12 pm. Would y'all take your old job back, if things were rough, and you couldn't get work else where??? I think my issue was what my old SUPERVISOR did to me. Is it possible, that I could get another SUPERVISOR? as well??? what would y'all do??? I'm biting the bullet, so-to-speak, and going to take this job and work it to the best of my abilities. I would have been mentor, here or IHD, if I would have just stayed and worked on another project. TP, is a call center, they do various projects, I can't say which ones, but they can switch you to different stuff. Thanks and sorry for the Novel!!! I'm just nervous, about going back. And I have trouble describing things!!! #motivation

Currently retire status

The fact that they would like you to return speaks volumes especially given the current environment in which a lot of talented people are seeking employment. You are working for a company and not necessarily a single individual . Best of success in your decision making process. “Things happen for a reason”

These are tough times, so you have to weigh what you need in these new times versus the past. Right now WFH is important and tech jobs are one way to do that. My caution in going back is that if the company allowed a supervisor like this to act this way, it may point to a bigger problem with the company. My advice would be to ask a lot of questions in the interview to make sure this was "an exception" and not common practice at this company.

You could go back but insist you answer only to someone else.I am sure others have problems with this supervisor. Otherwise keep looking.you deserve better. You have IT skills.Look at medical. Those computers are always breaking down. Or doing stuff so you have to call IT for support.Good Luck!
