We called a local Walmart and talked to an HR representative about the average time it takes to hear back from someone once you've applied. She said it depends on two things:

A) Department needs or urgency for additional resources. B) Applicant qualifications match job openings responsibilities.

It's typically an average of 5-7 days (calendar) before a potential candidate is called back for an interview.
