Really Bad Timing
I recently got a job and it's only my third week working there. The company likes it's workers to have a lot of availability and since I ride the bus I try to have as much availability as possible (like waking up at 5 am just to get to work on time when my shift starts at 8 am). I was heading to work today and my moms car broke down for about the fifth time in the last couple of months. I had to call in and let them know I couldn't come in since my mom is the one who drives me to the bus stop in the mornings. I'm assuming the car will probably not be fixed for at least a week since that's how long it took last time. The company has been slowly upping my hours and shifts so I'll be working for 5 days next week but I'll have to cancel those shifts if my moms car is still broken down by then. All people that are hired there are temporary workers until about January if they decide they want to keep you. If I have to cancel a bunch of shifts I could possibly lose my job! It's so frustrating not being able to get to work and stressing about if i'll still have a job or not.
what happen to calling or lift ? No excuses in the work force today you are asking the company to let you go if this continues invest in a bike.
