UPS Courier Jobs
Hi, If anyone could help me out with any information, it would be much appreciated.
My goal is to be a courier (preferably with UPS). I have long since completed the job application via their site, for this position. It tells me the application is complete (with the green thumbs up and everything), but each time I click to "schedule an interview", it tells me that there are currently no available appointments.
This has been going on for several months (at least), and it is in spite of the handfuls of emails and job postings I receive which say that UPS is currently hiring in my area, for this position.
What is going on with this? Is it because of UPS's "promote from within" policy? If so, why would they be posting these openings to the general public in the first place?
I don't mind being a Package Handler first, but I already have some good qualifications for the courier (local parcel delivery) position. I am also hoping for something more Full-Time, and I feel the driver job would just be a better fit for me.
If there are indeed availabilities, I'd like to know what am I missing here?
TIA to anyone that may be able to offer any guidance or insight.
-Anna

This happens all the time, I don't understand why

This is the worse time to seek a position with UPS. UPS is in seasonal hiring mode. Almost all applicants will be funneled into package handling jobs. These are part-time entry level positions. Those few selected from the mass pool may be hired as driver helpers for the holiday season. You will be hired, just not at the position you are seeking.

Ok. I will be the best.

Become a door dash or postmates driver. Garuanty hire.

What state/city are you looking to work in Anna? The UPS Delivery Driver track usually involves starting out as a Package Handler although exceptions are made during the holiday peak season. UPS also collaborates with local career resource centers to host #hiring events to recruit new employees. Hiring events are an excellent way to meet face to face with the hiring managers and discuss employment options. Update your profile with your location information then reach back out to this community so we can forward you some hiring event leads. Thanks Anne.

It turns out they redesigned the site, and the information--i.e., that the job was an on-call job, which would have been OK--was buried way down at the bottom.
No matter. I chose to stay at the hotel while I did my week at Integrad, even though I live in town and have reliable transportation. I thought, ironically, it would help me from being late. (And to be honest, I wanted to please the person hiring me and believed that by doing anything she suggested was "best" would make me appear easy to get along with.) Well, first night they held a late meeting. I returned to my room and fell asleep memorizing the 5 and 10 points they wanted us to memorize for our first day. I woke up 5 minutes after the shuttle had departed to a guy (from UPS) knocking on my door.
Long story short: It was too late to get there on time. I emailed for help, but received noresponse. I felt they wanted me to go home, but I didn't expect to hear nothing at all. Mysteriously, my appointment for the other driving postition was cancelled (not by myself) and now they just want me to bring them back my uniform.
It would have been zero extra cost to let me attend Integrad without staying at the hotel. My phone is soft and at home, I can plug it I to a speaker in order to hear it. I did not have this option at the hotel, and even a person that is wide awake wouldn't hear that darn alarm.
Oh well. Nothing to do. Thanks to everyone who responded to my initial post/question with helpful or positive words. Much appreciated.
