Relocating
I currently work in WV and want to relocate. If I quit my job can I receive unemployment benefits in another state until I become employed again

And, in most states if an individual’s fired / let go for “cause” (poor performance, attendance issues, etc.) he / she is NOT eligible for unemployment. The individual caused his / her OWN situation; the prior employer, for which the individual failed to perform, does not have to subsidize that person’s search for new employment. (I.e. - No reward for bad behavior.)

No, dear. You weren't laid off. You voluntarily left your job. You should have done some research before you quit.

No

I’m not quite sure the best person to ask is your unemployment office in your state they will have all the answers in terms of unemployment in other states

Whether or not you can take your benefits with you, get the new job, BEFORE you quit. Unemployment doesnt pay well, so you really dont to go through a move with a reduction of income.

No. At least not with out a really, really good reason.

Denise - Not sure who is misinforming you but if you quit, you are not eligible for unemployment. And to the best of my knowledge, you will not be able to collect unemployment from a state that you have not worked for a certain period of time. It's simple. If you have not paid into the State's UI system, don't expect to withdraw anything. - KD

No, you only receive unemployment benefits from the state where you worked to earn them. File for them in wv and once you start receiving them, then move.

I don't believe you would be eligible for unemployment if you quit. You would be eligible if you got let go, say for attendance or poor performance. You should consult HR.
