As a business professor, I tell my students that the more professional they dress, the more motivated they will be and also will give off a more professional impression. Appearance says a lot about a person and his ir her attention to detail necessary in most positions. Dr Reagan

True, if you don't appear to care about yourself, nobody else will care for you. You tend to get out what you put in. If you sag your pants, have tattoos all over your body, and look like a gang banger, you probably will not get positive attention from the professional community. Businesses pay a lot of money for quality people, but appearance means a lot, so you have to be intelligent, and dress the part.

Also, I think the employers look at your hands to see how your fingernails are kept.
I agree. I wear a business suit and closed toe shoes and always bring a few copies of my resume.
