So NERVOUS!
So I’m interviewing for an HR job in a couple of weeks, and I’m so so nervous about it! I feel like they know every interview trick in the book. How can I stay calm during my interview? I seriously need some advice!

Stay away from music that mskes you hyped, play relaxing music, give yourself plenty of time so you are not rush, if possible do a dry run to know where you are going befor the day of the interview. Yes deep breath, in and out. Remember things you put on your application, interviewers tend to ask question from your app. Sit up straight and give it your best shot. Smile.

Just play it cool

Melody,
There is a lot of good advice in the below comments.
Remember this:
- They are interested in you as evidenced by them calling you for the interview,
- They like what they see on paper
With those pieces in place, it's their opportunity to see if they can work with you. You have the skills, education and knowledge. Now is personality. It's not about the "trick questions", it's about how you react to those questions.
Reacting to questions:
- Think about the question from the point of the interviewer before you answer,
- Respond honestly and with subtle conviction (confidence is a strong trait, but don't be arrogant or flippant with your answer),
- Be yourself.
I believe the interview is also your opportunity to ensure the company is right for you and your career goals. So, be prepared to interview them as well. This is when you have your questions ready to ask.
The interview is also the opportunity for the company to see how well you work under pressure. So, stay calm. Have the focus that they need to prove to you that you belong there in that position, but don't be arrogant. You are not a commodity. You are strong, secure and sure of your skills and abilities.
Believe in yourself, and let your business focused sweetness shine through.

Try not to think about the position the job will put you in if you get it or where you would be if you are not offered it. Basically you are a person going to speak to other people about how you will be a great asset to their company, so do that. Sell yourself!

Melody the advise you were given is great but first you have to know God is ever with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Get in the mirror everyday and proclaim who you are and encourage yoyrself. It will build your confidence and you will find your nerves won't bother you again. You will be able to face anyone and anything. I am not saying there won't be times when you feel a little nervous but it won't be on the same scale. Be blessed and do your thing. You got this.

Hi, Melody. Very normal to be nervous. A few tips: Arrive 15 minutes early. Have at least one extra copy of your resume with you (one for you and one for each interviewer). Bring a minimum amount of things in with you-padfolio/folder with paper, two pens and mints. Leave the cell phone in the car. A tip to help with nerves: When you are in the interview, press the balls of your feet firmly into the floor and the palms of your hands together tightly. This releases some endorphins and helps calm the nerves. Look at this interview as an opportunity to have a conversation with someone, in which your success is important to the both of you. Good luck in this next stage!

Pray to god for everything you do.he will guide your foot step all the way.

Pray to god.for everything you do n life.he will guide your foot steps..

Breath Melody Breath.. I've been on hundreds of interviews and I still get nervous. It's part of the process. Try to get a good nights sleep and listen to your favorite music in the car or smartphone on your way in. Take a couple of deep breaths before walking into the office, smile, and blow them away! Good Luck.
Hello Melody. First of all, I am wishing success to you on your interview. I am an HR professional with more than 20 years experience. The best way to reduce your nervousness is to be well-prepared. When I prep for an interview, I print the announcement and I take a red pen and write when/where I obtained experience related to each duty statement. No one should be able to explain what you have done or do better than you. Also, think of examples of soft skills, like effective communication, great interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, compassion or empathy. In HR, people skills are of the utmost importance. Go get your job:-)
