I Need Help!

Back in January 2016 I lost my career as an Ophthalmology Technician due to sudden illness, and now that my husband is the only one working....everything has gone completely down hill. I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia a.k.a The Suicide Disease because after about 2 years of suffering, about 50% of the patients commit suicide due to the debilitating pain. I'm also having problems with my kidneys and lungs, but due to the income loss, we can't afford my medical care or prescriptions, we're facing homelessness very soon, and my children won't get to enjoy Christmas. Needless to say....I am desperate to earn an income, we've applied for assistance but we were denied because my husband works, I've applied for disability, the process is so long, and they require me to get needed medical treatment from my specialists on a regular basis but I can't afford it. My youngest daughter took it apon herself to start a fundraising campaign with CrowdRise months ago, but it hasn't been successful at all, we have not been able to get donations or find people willing to share the campaign information or the link to the page. At this point, I'm going to have to against my primary care doctors orders and attempt to get a job.....maybe I can try my best to hide my illness. This is taking a huge toll on me mentally and emotionally, and I'm feeling like I want to throw the towel in and end it all. What would you do in this situation?

Chakira,

I know it's not helping however PRAY n return to work. I have been diagnosed with breast cancer...was to have a mastectomy in 2 weeks. I prayed since I was terminated due to my diagnosis for excessive absenteeism.

With that said - I was denied my unemployment but kept my head high with angry brewing.

I decided...no one but me will be supporting my sons therefore I'm returning on Monday to a new position

It hurts to know that due to illness companies terminate however PRAY n believe. This to shall pass.

I know how you feel. I'm in a similar situation. I try to remind myself things happen for a reason. I try to keep my head up even when I don't feel like it. Give myself pep talks all day if need be. You have to keep trying. Pray, then brush your knees off. Keep going. It's not as easy for us women to find something as it is a male. Giving up isn't an option. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Hopefully, you'll hear good news soon.
