Why is it so hard to get hired or picked for a phlebotomy Job. All these agencies and nothing. Anyone know how to get into a lab Corp down in Richmond va. Please let me know.

Sadly, the issue is that Phlebotomy is not as big a job market as schools and certificate programs make it out to be. These quick-cert companies churn out phlebotomist certificates in massive batches throughout the year, making the supply greater than the demand. because of this, it is a dealer's choice situation.
With so many applicants from which to choose, labs will often go with someone who has experience, versus someone who has just received a certificate. This leaves newly certified phlebotomist unable to get the experience they need to land a job in the field.

Hi Donna Knaut I have heard this so many times before that this field IS quite difficult to get into it but don't let that discourage you. Difficult but not impossible! I am not sure why but perhaps there is an overabundance of employees in this field, but I do know that they look for experience most of all. The best thing to do is to search for local opportunities and continue to apply!
Just follow these steps!
1. Click on Jobs & Companies at the top of the page, or head over [here] (http://www.jobcase.com/jobs/search)
2. Enter a job into the search field where it says Job Title, Keywords, or Company.
3. Add in your location by filling in your City and State OR zip code. Then click the magnifying glass to search.
4. Once the list is up, click on “View Job" of any you are interested in and then apply.
Wishing you the best of luck with your job search!
I thought about phlebotomy jobs do they give paid training?
