drug testing
so recently i was told that before i could come back to work i had to take a drugs test... its a serving job no one has to drug test. any way its because my mother just died and the day before i had to work in the morning i had to go to my moms viewing i didnt sleep all that night had been up crying. well anyway still decided to go in. crying before going in sitting in my car to get up the courage to walk in ... well i did and as soon as i walked in the owner said something to me that had hurt my feelings he said :you look a little wobbly" i clocked in an went the bathrooom and stared crying. well i ended up going home because i couldnt handle it, well all the sudden they take me off the schedule and tell me that i cant come back in until i take a drug test well since i hadnt been working due to my mothers cremating and funeral and stuff i was broke. i told them that i would go get a home drug test and take it. well the manager told me that he didnt think the owner thought that would be good enough. any ways so i have been trying to talk to them for weeks now about how to go about getting a drug test no one will reply back to me or give me any info. hasnt returned my calls anything,... if people in thst place had to take a drug test over half the store would lose their jobs. i was clean more then happy to do it for them. but they wont say anything to me and never really even told me i was fired,,,, i also told my manager the way mom died and asked him to keep it between him and i which of course im pretty sure he didnt and due to how my mother passed away i think thats why they wanted me to test. but hasnt even given me the chance,,,, is there anything i can do about this????
To be honest, I get the feeling they were searching for an excuse to fire you anyway. I assume it was because you were gone due to the situation with your mum. Retail was a hellscape, I cannot ever imagine serving. If you can, take some time, REAL time, to grieve and then maybe consider your next steps. You could probably get unemployment and food stamps while you rest. Ever thought about delivery? I love it, it's just the right amount of human interaction lol I hope things get better soon.
Mr.Roger, With all due Respect we are not judge by the color of our skin . We are way beyond this, we are all God's children, we are not judge if we are white, , black, pink or whatever . So the picture you POSTED we can see .but we don't care as a group if are white will always love to help anyone.

The thing you can do is get you another serving position. Just like that. If they are not responding to you or giving you directions on how to get it done, then it sounds as though they aren't the people you thought they were.
Be careful what you share with people you work with. Even your very best friend, if you work together watch what you share with them too.

Because they are cheap and not having enough cash flow in that business. Dont work there that is already a sign of BS going on there and sounds like alot of turnover. Do research on these companies.
If a company wants you to be drug tested they usually send you somewhere and they pay for it. Why are you supposed to pay for a drug test that they're asking for
Excuse me no disrespect to you but if you encounter this ever again on your job when they tell you this just say I'm ready for the chest now if your drug for you have nothing to worry about take the test pass and keep your job God bless
Apply for unemployment. Trust me they will contact you. If I'm not mistaken if they ask for a drug test they should be required to pay for it.
