Why I am heading to Washington DC to march.
I can’t believe the video of Jacob Blake
I can’t believe that even in this heightened time and awareness of racial inequities that this happens so blatantly.
I can’t believe that young men are taking to the streets with rifles and shooting protesters.
I can’t believe that a cohort of otherwise reasonable people seem to defend the notion that any of this might somehow be justified.
I do believe we are better than this.
I do understand that many friends or allies will read this and think, “what the heck do you mean you can’t believe? This is there. All the time”. I get it.
I do regret that well intentioned words and empathy feel so seemingly ineffective.
I do not know exactly how to amplify my voice, or leverage what stature or power I may have in saying “ENOUGH!”.
But we begin by marching.
In Boston, but now feel the call to go to the capitol. (first time flying since the pandemic started)
I march for not just me but for my children and grandchildren.
I march for Jobcase and its mission of empowering workers (all workers, all races, all ability levels, all genders.. all).
I march because we must be StrongerTogether. Its time for our generation to keep this country from splitting further apart. Its not too late.
I march in hopes that we can keep this country stitched together and educate young men to other’s perspectives - and not to take up arms
I march for racial justice and the notion that all people are created equal and that this country should be the land of freedom and equal opportunity for all. I march as another step in doing more than just empathizing.
Maybe I’ll see you in DC. With Covid-19 I am sure the numbers will be smaller. But from Doc Rivers, to NBA and WNBA, to Jobcase and hundreds of companies like ours. Enough. Lets halt this wrong-headed violent approach to policing in our Black communities, lets all support our brothers and sisters of color, and lets do everything we can to keep this country together. To make the pain of this 2020 moment into a meaningful acceleration of that historical moral arc bending toward justice. Love not hate. Justice. Equal opportunity. Peace. Freedom. Light.
Here we come DC.

Wish you my best!

God bless you and your reasons why you feel the need to march

Thank you for being there for those of us who can not be! Due to circumstances beyond our control. Stay safe....

Stay safe God Bless

Well spoken Stay safe

What was this child doing on the street with a dangerous weapon in his hands playing judge, jury & executioner? Where are his parents? This behavior is deplorable and for these gun rights groups to endorse this speaks volumes about the State of this Country.

May God bless you and keep you and all marching with you safe!

I believe you should do more research first. Yes it was sad but completely justified shooting, and no one was shooting rioters for sport, they attacked him. Granted at 17 he probably shouldn't have been there...

Be safe, be kind and be well.
Many blessings and praise for what you believe is right. Often times I find myself praying for the people who have lost their life.
