You would need to bring up relevant past experience. If you were good at it I would definitely mention my previous supervisors praises on how good of a job I did. Additionally you need to dress for the job that you want. Yes you may be a laborer but if you go to the interview in nice clothes that will definitely say something about you in a good way. It might be a good idea to also bring up other experience that you have. Such as forklift Etc

If you have any certificates for running any equipment such as forklift boom lift scissor lift and relevant experience... if your going to be a laborer go to your local union hall apprentice they will train you in all things laborer if your going to use your hands and your back you might as well get paid proper ... health benefits pension defined contribution... I've work out of my current hall for 28 years concrete side it's not for the weak all you really need is brute force and ignorance but if you want to be a Forman or higher you gotta be smart and not only know your job but every body else's aswell ... knowledge is power and the deeper your skill set is the further you will go if you want to do the bare minimum you will always be at the bottom cause all you got in the laborers trade is your name .
