Someone Up There Like Me!! Pleasantly surprised to get a interview opportunity for a Supervisor position I put in for at my job. I don't have any previous management or leadership experience but I’ll be in charge of 6 other employees in the Shipping/Receiving area if I get to land this job. Right now I have a good working relationship with the team. That might change if I become the boss but I’m confident that I can get them to stay on board ship and follow my directions. I’ve also been working the same department for 2 years so I know about operation procedures and what needs to get done on a day to day basis to get the job done. Do you guy’s think that’s enough to convince the company that I’m the right man for the job during the interview?

Congrats on the interview Jackson! Prepare to speak about how you would be a positive influence to the companies future business objectives. Best of Luck

The fact that you are already thinking along these lines tells me that you're management material, so don't lose any sleep over the interview. I'm willing to bet you've got the job and that the interview is merely a formality.

The fact that you got called for an interview shows that the company leaders see management potential within you and would be willing to train and cultivate your leadership skills. Be confident during the interview and answer their questions with bold certainty.

That's so awesome, Jackson! And yes, I think highlighting the fact that you can help with employee retention (keeping them on board) is a huge plus for interviewers. Talk about your relationship with your team, and how they naturally look to you as a leader. When is your interview?
