Rumors....
I have been interviewing for two months for a new position as I lost my job in May.
One of my former employers, a company I left Feb of 2017, has very serious allegations surrounding them. These allegations include tax fraud and drugs in the office. Some of the companies with whom I have interviewed have heard of these rumors and have asked me to elbkeate. I can't speak to the tax fraud allegations, but I have indeed witnesses the CEO use in the office.
My dilemma is that I don't want to lie and say the rumors aren't true, but also do not want to completely throw them under the bus. It was an uncomfortable environment, so I left. I try to focus on finding employment as opposed to focus on painting them as villains.
Am I wrong here? Should I talk more about these rumors when asked?
I think u r right. The focus should be and remain upon u cuz your former employer is totally out of the picture now.y would they even be concerned about the other company unless they were rivals? Makes no sense to me....
You are not at liberty to speak on the matter. Any disclosure can be used against by hiring managers.
