Going Back to Work
Just want to post this so some of you don't give up hope. My last day of work was Jan 31, 2016. I am 60 years old, post divorce and shortly after that my latest significant other passed away of cancer,, then 3 months later my mother passed and my then a few months after that my aunt. I have lost evrything I worked for my entire life-busines-home-contentsyou name it. I am now the matriarch of what's let of a family. I have my own health issues from going through everything and was working temp jobs to keep a roof over my head.
I have applied for more than 800 positions. Now the payoff! Offers coming in --I have accepted a position this morning for a late July start date. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Hang in there and don't give up....what I have learned from everything I have gone through is...you must always charter your own ship. No one else can do it for you. Take charge and keep plugging away till something changes. You can do it!
Good luck to all who are still seardhing.

Fabulous! I have grown very weary of the job search!!!

Thank you ,appreciate that

Thank you for ur words it greatfully appreciated

Donna, you just absolutely made my day - i'm so happy for you. May God bless you and yours!

Hi Donna I share a similar story but due an abusive marriage I became disabled and was taken off work in 2005.During that time I returned to school and now have my BA in Psychology and have been applying for social work postions but just not getting hired on. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong it's so discouraging. But reading your story really has given me hope.Thank you so much for sharing..God bless you..

Thank you for posting this. There have been many times I have wanted to throw in the towel. You have inspired me to keep pushing. Good luck with the new job!..

Thanks Donna for the encouragement, I pray that God will continue to bless you in all that you do.

God bless you. I hope that one of those offers pays you enough to help you get back to health. Being unemployed is extremely stressful and can take a toll on your health. I'll be praying for you. Please feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or Facebook. Your story inspires me.

Thanks Donna. I wish you well in the future and with your health issues. I am so sorry for your loses. I accepted a work from home offer on today. I am still looking for other work as well to supplement that job since the hours will be flexible. I have an interview on next week for a part-time job. You are so right. I am a veteran and learn from being in the Army, you must adapt in order to survive.
