Perception vs Reality

When we are searching for a company to apply for employment to we usually visit their website and read their literature to form our perceptions of the company and its management. Then we form a mental perception of the company, right? The outside perception is how customers and prospects perceive a company. The outside perception is developed by all of the interactions people have with a company The inside reality has to do with all the things a business does that makes them valuable to customers from a product, operation and management standpoint. However, most companies outside perception is not an accurate reflection of their inside reality. Most companies are controlled by Diminishers that drains intelligence, energy, and capability from the people around them and always needs to be the smartest person in the room. These are the idea killers, the energy sappers, the diminishers of talent and commitment.

So, it's not surprising that when you don't get the call for an interview, or are treated unethically and unprofessionally, you are experiencing a toxic work environment first hand. What I'm trying to say is, don't be so shocked because, this happens throughout all industries at all levels throughout America. And even when you do get hired you still have to survive these toxic bosses and work environments, where nothing gets done and everyone is frustrated and unhappy. Of course it's not everywhere, but the challenge is to find companies that have cultures that genuinely care about their employees, before you waste time and money sending your resume out.

All the marketing and promotion that companies blanket the population with is designed to create a Mirage of the company culture. My friends, the reality is, worklife is not like it is depicted the way the television, radio and the internet portrays it to be, at least not for us down here in the lower middle class in America. ( Lower Middle Class, $ 32,500 Yr. to $ 60,000 Yr. range. (Average 23,550 Yr.) range. Yes, there are exceptions, but very rarely, but possibly if you can change you mindset and approach to your career path to be a means to get your foot in the door and then work toward the goal of advancing to the next level in your career plan, possibly that will help you stay encouraged and passionate about planning and implementing your career and educational path. So many people on Jobcase are focusing on complaining about being mistreated and forgotten, well, now you know why,it's because the job market is toxic. One more thing, these Human Resources people don't owe you anything, they are working for the same toxic company you want to work for, they may have a job but they are frustrated and unhappy, but they have to pretend to be someone that they're really not in order to keep their job, because they work for the same diminishers that you would work for if you got the job. So, don't blame them. They are just trying to stay employed too.

Here is a shocking statistic. Since 2013, the Federal Reserve Board has conducted a survey to “monitor the financial and economic status of American consumers.” Most of the data in the latest survey, frankly, are less than earth-shattering: 49 percent of part-time workers would prefer to work more hours at their current wage; 29 percent of Americans expect to earn a higher income in the coming year; 43 percent of homeowners who have owned their home for at least a year believe its value has increased. But the answer to one question was astonishing. The Fed asked respondents how they would pay for a $400 emergency. The answer: 47 percent of respondents said that either they would cover the expense by borrowing or selling something, or they would not be able to come up with the $400 at all. Four hundred dollars! Who knew? The reality is, we're all living paycheck to paycheck, at every salary level. But we are really good at pretending, just like the television has taught us. Just keep looking at your phone pretending that you are important and care free, and financially secure. Or wake up and face reality head on, and stop complaining. It could be much worse and it probably will be unless you're in the top 1%. If you are, then what the hell are you reading this for?
