Advice, thoughts, suggestions.. Help please?!
So I am employed and not actively seeking any other opportunities at the moment. Though, I have recently been contacted by a few employers offering work unaware that I am not seeking anything. I guess my info is still available to view on some employment search engines.
So anyway.. Some peaked my interest and now I am open minded to them especially since I see my company doesn't allow for growth. I forwarded my resume to a few of the companies who reached out.
All were interested which made me feel great! 2 of 3 ended up hiring within but still asked to keep me on file as the feedback from their superiors found me very capable for possible future positions. Which yeah is wonderful but really disappointing at the moment because it would be such a huge step in career and financially for me.
There is that 1 other opportunity where I was asked to interview and did back in the beginning of this month. It went very well and felt confident afterwards. This company I interviewed for has hired a recruiter for their search and is the one who reached out to me for the opportunity on their behalf.
I was and am excited for the opportunity. Also this was before I knew about the other employers hiring within. So anyways I was anxious with excitement after and followed up 2-3 days after with the recruiter. She informed me that they are still deciding and are really busy with meetings and such they haven't got around to it, that she will hope to speak with the lady who interviewed me in a couple days.
It seemed reasonable to me and also I could see from when I was there how big of a company they are and how busy they are. They have numerous locations throughout the states. So all this made sense. Well I didn't hear from the recruiter after a week so I again followed up with her last Tues and she thanked me for following up but that she still hadn't heard back due to how busy they are with meetings and colleagues flying in etc. that she will call me on Wednesday and let me know. After I got off the phone with her, the recruiter. I realized the next day was Wednesday and wasn't sure if she meant that Wednesday or the following which was this most recent Wednesday.
Either way I still haven't heard anything. I'm getting super anxious and nervous. I just want to hear something either way. I also don't want to be annoying. Some might say if they were interested I would have known by now.. What do y'all think? I'm thinking and hoping for the best of course and thinking that they are super busy and haven't had a chance yet to decide.. Maybe they are waiting on a final decision from someone else idk The recruiter didn't sound negative.
I felt a genuine sense of they are busy and I'm sure she herself is as well with her own work. What should I do? Do you think if I call again to the recruiter it is too much or should I just call the lady directly who interviewed me?? Any input I would appreciate, thanks so much in advance! :)

I want to wish you luck. Sorry I don't have specific advice, because I don't have enough experience to give advice here, but I'm rooting for you.

Yes I would wait... I know from experience that recruiters and companies can take up to three weeks for a call back to you. If you don't hear back after that Wednesday, call the recruiter. They now have a recruiter, so you have to go through them. Policy. ...good luck!

Hey Laura, I think you've been taking some awesome steps with all of this. Since you aren't sure which Wednesday the recruiter was referring to, I would try to wait until next week. Maybe try giving a call at the end of the day if you haven't heard back to check up again. Hope that helps. Wishing you lots of luck for this opportunity!
Hi Laura, Congrats on all the attention you're getting from those companies. I’ve only worked with a recruiter 1 time in the past and remember all the recruiting including the offer was handles through the recruiter. Go with your gut. If you genuinely feel that the reason they haven’t contacted you is because their busy then give them another week to respond before you call back. I wouldn't hesitate reaching out to the recruiter as many times as you deem necessary because they also benefit from getting that position filled for the employer as soon as possible. Call the recruiter this week and hold off on contacting the interviewer until the end of the week, Thursday being the latest. Hope you get the offer!
