Always ask questions..
So I am looking to get a new job. I had 2 interviews and followed up with Thank you card, without harassing the interviewers (Advice #1 always get a business card). I finally got the call from HR giving me the position. I was Koolaid smiles and jumping up and down. The job involved assisting management and lots of traveling without compensation for milage. I was a 25% PAY CUT for a lot more work. I asked if they had a sign-on bonus or could they meet me 1/2 way. BIG FAT NO! so my question to the collective could I have done better or did I make a mistake?

Hello Carmen. I think it goes beyond the right to work issue. Sure you COULD have done better, but when? How long, how many appl's & resume "send outs", and interviews can you handle waiting for/going to? It's like buying something and finding it cheaper elsewhere, later on. Sometimes you just have to make a move. It's just a "maybe" /possibility that the store will rectify the situation. I HESITATE to say "Did you forget to ask them about this condition? I think THEY (MGMT)/HR) SHOULD HAVE mentioned it MUCH EARLIER in the interest of "Full Disclosure". Bottom LIne: Give it a try. See how long you can stick it out. While you do, be planning a move/research new opportunities. BUT--KEEP the research TO YOURSELF. Tell Mgmt. when you have the new job LOCKED UP. Good luck, God Bless.

Hi Carmen Perez , so sorry to hear this job opportunity didn't work out for you but I'm honestly still a bit fuzzy on how or why this wasn't all discussed during the hiring process. Especially after 2 job interviews.
Where you intentionally mislead or was the pay/compensation package never discussed?
Keep the job but keep on looking the company is exploring you but right now just keep mum and keep on looking
