Miserable

I got a job, but I'm miserable. The managers are terrible, the working conditions are lousy, and the pay is way below what I was making before. I'm trying to make the most of it. But I don't know how long, I will last. The managers have no patience, are way younger than me, and are condescending, One manager said to me, "I need you to retain this information now, I've already told you once." I have a learning disability, and it takes me a little bit longer than others. And I don't know what to do. I'm so miserable with this job.

HELP????????

Dear Miserable... I have been working in many different jobs since 1970. When I found a job like you describe, there is only one true answer...get a new job. Be proactive to search for a new job and use your time here to earn what money you can. Do as much as you can to achieve what they are asking of you, just so you retain the position until you find a new job. I've found that, in these cases, these people are not going to change. It will always be this way and Senior Managers have created this foul environment. There is no incentive for them to change and they won't. First chance you get....GET AWAY FROM THEM.

Good evening Jennifer,

I could write you on what you ought to do, but I will repeat what everyone had stated and what you already know.

First, please take a deep breath, and I want you to remember three proven facts: (a) you are a Victor, not a Victim; (b) You are always in control; and (c) things happen because of you not because of anyone.

Second, I want you to resonate four key facts to yourself:

  1. Determine your why?
  2. Take care of your business.
  3. Take action!
  4. Avoid pitfalls from others.

Jennifer, I believe you know what you ought to do. All you have to do is follow through with your plan. Be honest to yourself and demand respect. You are a professional with a library of experience. Do not get emotional in any situation but always keep yourself composed. If others cannot be professional to you, then become the role model they need...set the example.

Trust me...your professionalism WILL NOT go unnoticed. You'll garner more credibility and respect than those unprofessional.

Remember, you are always in control regardless of the situation to include your emotions and composure.

When do you want to start looking for new career opportunities?

Best regards, Bruce SolutionsImagineer@gmail.com
