Helping the homeless.

I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, but please stop and consider those who are homeless. Did you know that Los Angeles has become the #1 capital in the U.S. for homelessness now? Our nation is hurting and we must stop to think about others if we are to turn this nation around and giving to our fellow citizens in need is a major way to help. One place that is in need is the Union Rescue Mission downtown Los Angeles Skid Row area. They are overwhelmed with the homeless seeking help on a daily basis and they need our help. Won't you consider reaching out to them this Thanksgiving, God will surely bless you. You can go to URM.com and donate. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

This country is only doing great for the wealthy... please! I'm in south Florida and huge problem here with homelessness too...Mothers sleeping in cars with kids...not just addicts or mental illness...many good people who can't get work and who get minimal benefits from the state! Wake up America! Demand better human services and rights for all. Start caring about your neighbor because someday it could be you!

We have a huge problem with homelessness in Charlotte, NC. Many investors have bought land and property from prior owners, and built houses, renting for over $1000. Many of the jobs here do not pay enough to pay for the rent, resulting in a lot of homeless people. It has been shown on the news, and the mayor is getting a lot of complaints about the problem. I work several jobs to try to make ends meet, and often fear at the end of the month of being homeless, so I work extra hours to make sure I have enough to pay the rent! The shelters have been at capacity for several years, and they have not been turning people away. Several churches have opened their doors for the homeless to have a warm place to sleep.
A guy who lives in my neighborhood recently collected blankets to give to shelters and churches. I give money to the homeless, have bought food for a family who was homeless, people have given plates of food to the homeless, and have donated items to help the homeless. This is a major problem in America. Everyone should have access to food, clothing, and shelter when they need it. We all need to help wherever we can to solve this problem.

Amazing how there are more than 2 million homeless people in America. What's more amazing is that Congress cannot ever find the money to provide money for those 2 million people but always bend over backwards to find the money to give everything free to the 15 million illegals that are here.
