Been looking for a job for over a month
Like many on here, I'm looking for work. As the title says, I have been for over a month. I only have a high school diploma and don't really have the ability to go back to school. I have been in Customer Service in many venues in one way or another, but I have physical limitations that make it difficult to continue with the experience that I have in my work history. I've been applying for positions as Receptionist, Data Entry etc and have had less than 10 interviews out of the more than 40 applications that I've put in. I'm not all that knowledgeable about Microsoft Office Suite tho I have been trying to follow tutorials on it. Rather difficult considering the trial program on my computer expired and I cant afford to pay for the yearly subscription for the full version. Does anyone have suggestions that I might be able to look in to? I'm really not wanting to go back into Retail or Food Service

Hi Julie Loghry ! I think it's important to keep applying to as many opportunities as you can and always follow up after an interview to thank your interviewer for their time. This will leave them with a positive last impression of you and will make it more likely that they'll get in touch with you later on. There should be some services online where you can test your skills with MS Office. Most of these shouldn't require that you have MS Office yourself. I would do some research to see if you find a service that has tests that will help you stay sharp!
The labor board of Alaska lists this source for computer training: http://live.laborstats.alaska.gov/atc/provider.cfm?p=020000000119 ... You will need to be proficient in Microsoft Office for the types of jobs you are seeking.
