Spot inspections?
Is it legal to be pulled over for a random inspection (non weight mesure) without any viable or apparent violation? I'm non CDL but Class A operator....26001 gvwr combination with trlr hauling my tractor and implements.. I've noticed the local city police pulling truckers over a lot lately on a stretch of hwy rhe state troopers normally patrol. My brother says the locals have been given more authority to do so Okay...but sounds like harassment if there is no obvious violation?
only way they can be doing inspections is if the are dot certified.
They should be upset. It is taking there livelihood away.

Yes it is. Law enforcement and. Have the right to pull over commercial vehicle at any time for an inspection with or without cause
