Confused
I swear, I have placed over 30 applications & resumes in the last 2 months and I haven't got 1 call from anyone and I'm a LCSW .. I fine it so crazy on how they post a job and you apply but you never here anything else.

You are not the only one applying to these positions how is your resume setting you apart from other candidates? If you are still using the old fashioned chronological format that lists positions and duties I would ditch it. Focus on highlighting your soft, and hard skills, your achievements, and really fine tune the resume you are submitting for that position. Cover letters don't skip them it is the best way to showcase who you are, and what you can do for them. If your resume has an objective line get rid of it they are outdated and usually bland. Work experience sections should only provide basic information name of employer position held and dates most employers. Education: list degrees, and certifications where you obtained them but don't include GPA or year graduated especially more seasoned applicants. Our resumes represent who we are, our experiences, and what we can do for an employer it is important that the resume we provide is sending the right message. Have someone else read through your resume, fix typos, and keep it to one page also convert your file to PDF because many programs can distort formatting on different document types. You also need to double check the contact information is correct include name, phone number, and email addreds. Online job searches are great, but you still need to pound the pavement as many positions are not promoted, and don't forget to network because often people you know can be a foot into a great position. It is also important to follow up on job prospects I worked for a company that would take resumes but would only consider applicants that had followed up on their resumes after submitting it. And another tip of you see a position online that you really want and there is a contact find the address and either drop your resume off in person or mail it to bypass the complicated filters usually used for online resume submissons. I have never gotten a position by applying online alone that way lies insanity. You need to find a way to bypass the impersonal online process I submit resumes online as a last resort.
***You can also take certain key words from the posting and out them in white print in the background of your resume so it isn't visible that will usually help bypass filters so a person actually receives it.

It actually drives you crazy because you know ur qualified for the position but they still never call you for even an interview. But they keep the job posted..

I hear you. I have applied for positions since February of 2015. I cannot count the amount of applications I have put in, but I have yet to hear anything also. I have a masters in education administration, but I don't want to be a principal. I would like to work in the district office or go into athletic directing. I've applied for both career fields on the district and collegiate level...nothing this far.

Are you getting contact info and calling them back and checking your emails?

Unfortunately, that's TYPICAL in today's job market!

I have the same issue. They want u to have experience. How am I going to get experience, if I never get hired. Lots of professional jobs look at your credit rating, even small issues like worthless checks, even if you made restitution on your background. They're looking for PERFECT people, not folk who has the ability to get it done! Keep pounding my friend!

Your so right. I've done the same. And no response.

Richard, this is the new age and has become the norm in seeking employment, I believe it has come in existence due to the internet in which companies/recruiters all use online methods which results in abundance of competition in real time. I have had success applying directly to companies websites but I have many years of work experience and a business degree which by the way does not matter in today's market, it still takes time to find work whether you have a degree or not. The one thing you have to do as hard as it is stay diligent, keep an open-mind to many possibilities and remain confident. Consider creating a LinkedIn profile and apply to some of the major recruiting agencies (Adecco, Staffmark and Robert Half) and consider temporary work assignments until you find a permanent position. Good Luck.

Don't be confused, I just seen that you have a nickne for me. My birth name is Zyna Caron. Of which on your response it has Dynamo that confused me??
So, anyone mind telling me what is a LCSW?
