Concerned
I was collecting unemployment of maximum $450 per week and was offered school and decided to do this while I waited patiently for working opportunity and then I found work but not for an employer.
I worked on a few projects such as a balcony rebuild and a patio cover and a shower/tub tile project and refused to abuse the system and continue to collect unemployment while I worked on these jobs. I also continued to go to school and have been successful and am only a few weeks away from completing my school.
I have also signed up and enrolled in another private school that stafts tomorrow and will continue until the end of August to become certified for reinforced concrete special inspector.
I have a few leads for more work but nothing currently at the moment and I'm negative in my account. I don't want to give up looking for work and don't want to abuse the privilege of unemployment wages.
I believe in myself and am waiting for application for to revitalize my license that expired yet am looking for work as a Journeyman Carpenter that will pay me enough to survive these times of concerns.
I need help and am reaching out for suggestions please.
Thank you!
Todd

Just know that you can work while you are collecting employment you just half to report it and the will adjust your wages that's what they want you to be doing is seeking work that's they goal so don't stop doing what you are doing just report the income

The best thing for you is to "be your own boss, and start your own business."

I would say that the answer to your particular issue is that it's within you, you sound like you do have the skills, but dont know where to get the help, be your own boss, start your own business, seek out a small business load, there are agencies and groups, investers that are open to folks wanting to start up their own businesses, start with the urban leagues, small business partners, have a strong business plan, and be confident. Check with a community college counselor, who will assist you in putting a business plan together, sometimes free of charge, a business student could help you, it takes a little foot work. But will pay off, there are other services available, try ur local community colleges , seek and you will find

THAT DECISION IS FOR YOU TO MAKE BECAUSE I MAY NOT EXPERIENCE THE THINGS THAT YOU EXPERIENCE. SO I CAN'T SAY EITHER YES! OR NO! EVERYONE'S SITUATION(S) ARE DIFFERENT SO IT'S UP TO YOU! I HOPE THAT EVERYTHING TURNS OUT WELL!

Hi,
I am intrusting regarding your offer

Where are u located ?

Same goes for West Virginia and California.
Frankly, and I don’t mean this to be harsh, you souled like you are all over the map. You are receiving unemployment, about to finish school to be a concrete inspector and want to renew your license to become a carpenter while taking odd jobs. All of that is not necessarily bad. But, what is your end goal ? It would be difficult for anyone to give you advice beyond not defrauding the unemployment compensation department that would be meaningful.
You need to sit down and determine what your objective is specifically.
