This is my first time applying online and using online companies to search for a job. My question is how do I know they received my application and how long does it take for them to get back with you letting you know if they are interested or not?
I've been with my job 10+ years and I've always filled out paper applications and talked straight with the owner. This is all new to me.

Reality Check! Looking for a job online can drive you nuts. Try to use key words listed in the posting to catch the screening filter. Respond quickly, if the invite is sent for interview. Also, look for email addresses that allow you apply directly to a recruiter.

I've been applying online for everything and when I get done with the application all it does is restart the application so I don't know this is bullcrap what's wrong with the paper application

You didn't say if you are still working at the same job or why you are leaving

I'm still at my same job and not leaving I've been here for over 10 year's. It's seasonal in the summer and it is very slow here. I've had a lot of personal issues in the past 2 years and it has hurt my clientele. So it's like I'm starting over at a new job with no clientele. Thank God I have some loyal people that have been with me for 20+ years.
Hi Lee, if you are using an online job search company such as Indeed or ZipRecruiter you can see the jobs you have applied for and if the application has been viewed in the " My Jobs or Jobs" section. You should also receive emails with updates from the online company as well for each application. As far as how long it takes for a response, that will vary but I would recommend applying to as many jobs as possible as you see openings that fit your interest or experience.
