What should I know before applying to a Supervisor job?

Ask for hourly pay otherwise if you are on call by the time you finish a week of your hours plus on call hours you may have decreased your hourly rate by 8.00 dollars. Be sure that if you are on call know what weeks you have and be sure to say you can't work the weeks you are not on call they did that to me allll to often said oh so and so is sick. When she posted partying on a boot. But I had to work 3 -16 shift back to back and the 4 day I came in. I had to work from 3p to 4am. And refused and they said you can't refuse. I said I can and I will I just 3 16 hour shifts back to back that weren't my call I'm not staying until 4. They said well you have no choice. I said have I have a choice not one you want to hear but I quit. And never looked back. Not when I was always the one having to cover everyone's call outs. Nope that I will never do again.

You'll have a lot of responsibility to the company and your employees, you have to deal with their problems and the operation. Scheduling days off for employees is a headache, if YOU'RE to sympathetic then a SUPERVISORY job isn't for you.
Interpersonal communication skills will go a long way.and showing the operator/worker’s the same respect you show your manager. A company can really flourish when we all see each other as a team and the communication between each department is open and understandable.
