Running out of time?
How can I find a Summer job this late? I’m a Chemical Engineering student entering my senior year next fall. I know I’m starting my summer job search late this year but I’m still looking to land an internship in my field. I applied for 3 opportunities with engineering companies so far but no one has responded to my application. At this point I’ll be willing to take on any job as long as I can get full time hours over the summer. I also applied to about 10 job openings for retail, warehouse, and restaurant but these online applications are dead ends. Any ideas?
You should try walking in your applications. You might get lucky and actually speak to a human being who's in a position to get you an interview.
Internship usually begin early June for college students but as long as there's a posting you still may have a chance. High level networking helps. As far as summer jobs look into theme parks, summer camps, or park services. Those employers target HS and college students for work and you can typically expect long hours.
