I was fired due to providing a media company toll-free numbers to have in their bank of available numbers for television commercial airings for their product. I told them that the numbers were not active and that they would need to be provisioned and activated prior to use.

They gave the numbers to a third party and didn't pass along the information that the numbers were inactive. This third party ran commercials for their product with inactive numbers and lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue.

Despite having proof that I informed the correct party that the numbers were inactive, the company I worked for agreed to reimburse the client for the lost revenue. Of course, somoene had to take the fall and that was me.

I had worked there for two years and was out of work for 3 months while trying to land another job. That was fun.
