I was terminated on the 4th of feb. and no one will give me an answer why?

Why can they not have to give me a reason? I had my evaluation 2 days before hand with my foreman. Everything was good.

Check with your State. If it’s an at will non-union job....they don’t need to provide a reason.

At will means you can be let go for no reason. I would not dwell on the why, apply for unemployment where they will have to answer this question to unemployment. If you feel there is no basis and they decide to fight the unemployment, you can plead your case.

It is called at will. You can leave any time you want without notice and they can get rid of you anytime without a reason. So pick yourself up dust yourself off start new search ASAP.

Employment is at will at most places. No one has to give anyone a response.

Sometimes they just decide to do this especially in small companies. It's happened to me before, and several times.

I'm sorry to hear is actually fine print that you never get to see but just like ppl.can quit without saying why ,Employers can also let you go without an explanation I suggest you apply for Unemployment and move on.Things happen for a reason. Good luck to you

Currently looking for work

That REALLY SUCKS Craig but here is what I suspect: You MUST find out if they state you that work in is one of those " right to work " states because IF it is, they DON'T have to tell you the reason they fired you and I HATE that law because if gives SO MUCH POWER to the employer and it pretty much renders employees POWERLESS!!! The ONLY good thing about this law from the employee's perspective is that you can quit WHENEVER you want WITHOUT giving them a reason or notice ALSO. The problem I have with this law is the FACT that they DON'T have to give a reason WHY they fired you! I would be a HUGE PROPONENT of this law IF the ONLY thing they changed about it was that BOTH parties MUST give the reason for leaving whether it's on the employee's side and ESPECIALLY the EMPLOYER'S side!!!! You see I am PERFECTLY FINE with the quit WHENEVER you want WITHOUT notice or FIRING an employee WITHOUT notice but BOTH parties MUST give the REASON for the departure on EITHER end! I believe in doing things INTELLIGENTLY and that it MUST MAKE SENSE!!!!! Unfortunately, there are a LOT of laws like this that DON'T make sense and is UNFAIR, such as is the case with this FLAWED law! I WISH they would change it to the way I just suggested.
