How do I know this is legit or not? Anyone ever hear or deal with Microland.com
Offered me a job but the money side for 'the purchase of software and hardware' doesn't jive with me. Anyone care to weigh in on this one for me?
That is your accounting task and the vendor will have to receive the payment from you, so as to make sure all materials are enscripted in your name
You will be receiving the check for the purchase of your working materials. Once you receive the check you are needed to have the check deposited into your bank account and once the funds are available in your account, you are to deduct the $200.00 as your sign on bonus and the rest of the funds in your account will be for the purchase of your working software. I will be here to refer you to the vendor whom you will be making the purchase from. Do you understand this part?
Hi Lorrie, it looks like Microland IS a real company based out of India, but is there a chance that the person you're in contact with is not actually affiliated with them? Unfortunately without any further information it's hard for me to tell if this is a legit opportunity or not. Can you forward me an email they've sent you to askemily@jobcase.com so that I can do some further research?

Total India-based scam. Right up there with the ones who call you saying that they've detected malware on your computer and try to instruct you to open a C-prompt and hack into it. (But I love it when they all me; I play head games with them the whole time)

I have also been jo searching and received similar emails over past few days. One stated that they wanted to give me a trial run since they were always traveling. They would have their accountant send me a certified check to buy gifts and deliver them? To get started I had to reply by verifying my contact info. The whole thing just sounds fishy.
Your email above sounds like the second one I got from another "prospective" employer. The wording is almost identical.
I would definitely stop communication with them

This is a total scam ! I actually got one of these a few years back. They sent a check via FedEx, I took it to the bank and asked them to look at it and they verified that it wasn't legit. I actually have also received three other offers such as this within the last week from ziprecruiter and monster. If anyone is asking you to deposit a check and send them money it's fake. Why would they mail you money to have it mailed to someone else ? Because they want you on the hook for it. What you should do is notify the site that posted the add you answered, and the company they are claiming to be from. Forward copies of the email to both so they can deal with it accordingly.
