Coworker didn't come in
I like working at KFC and most ppl there are great and i get along with them. Except for the one new guy who started last month. He seemed great annd was learning quick but after a couple weeks he’d always be 5-10 minutes late for his shift which messes everyone else up and he asked me to cover a shift for him sense he had family stuff going on. Anyway I asked him to return the favor 2 days ago and he never showed up for it!!!! I got yelled at by my boss since it was technically my shift and all he said was ‘oops sorry i forgot’. Come on dude!!! How do I bring this up to him so it doesn’t happen again??
Having a conversation about productive team effort and the effect a fellow employee who shows less concern for others brings out. When you make positive suggestions, while being prepared for disappointment for your feelings, the advice given is,meant for the well-being of everyone everyday. When possible make it clear that your trust for him to watch out for common interests, has greatly diminished. Welll placed words for greatest effect will reveal exactly what is needed for observers and participants alike. Make a stand for your cause, and see what stirs up and how fast the dust settles.

Paige, unfortunately we are in a world that is absorbed with our own self-interest. Please do not let this discourage you from helping others. Although this did not work out, your compassion for others is not unnoticed! Keep pursuing your dreams and never look back!
Don't ask or expect anything from him cuz you know that you can't depend on him that way you would not get fussed at by your boss

Don’t ever ask him to cover for you again and don’t you ever cover for him.
Always get management approval before changing any schedule their decisions not yours. Lol He sounds pretty slick . Management won't tolerate it very many times.

Moving forward, I would suggest that if there are any adjustments with the schedule made that you make the manager aware, so that if that person doesn’t show up they can be held accountable.
