Cashier at Kfc

I worked here at KFC from June 2016 to the end of October 2016

I was a full time cashier the whole time employeed. The owners lived in Weatherford and didn't tell us until the last minute (actually the night before) that we were no longer open to the public. They were bankrupt and the whole staff was immediately laid off, we didn't even receive our very last pay check!!

Tiffany, contact and file unemployment. i am thinking you should still get it if you need it during your search. Contact them now and don't wait though- they don't backdate it to the day you got laid off. It starts from the day you file. Even if your company went bankrupt you should still be fine from what they paid into unemployment insurance before they crapped out and dumped on their employees with 0 notice. Nice folks.

Is there some way the state might be able to help? Just wondering because there should be a form of some sort of payment. I feel just awful for you. So sorry you and others have to go through this.

That's really a bad case of mismanagement. Not on your behalf, but on the owner and manager. Sorry to read that every one else suffered because of it . Not to get the last check was like turning the knife after getting stabbed in the back.
