A lot depends on what type of jobs are there.

If its "blue collar" your #1 ace in the hole is being able to pass a drug screen. In your area (Thanks for telling us where you are so we can better help you) its VERY hard to find people who can pass a drug screen.

This is not to "dis" Ohio, but that part of the country has a lot of people hooked on opioids. People work hard, get sore, and Drs pump them full of pills.

Back to you, most of what happens is filling out of applications and submitting resumes. Get a cheap "thumb drive" and put your resume on it. Sometimes you might run out of resumes and someone will let you submit yours off of the thumb drive (you end up keeping the drive after you left them download electronic copy off of it.)

Bring a stack of hard copy resumes with you. Bring a notebook. Collect business cards. Meet everyone you can, both employers and fellow applicants. Sometimes its almost a party atmosphere.

Sometimes, you learn of an opening that you arent right for, but you know someone else who is. Go ahead and play matchmaker. The world is strange.
The more other people you steer towards work, the more other people do the same for you. (Kind of like on here?) The other thing is that the employer you steered a person toward, will take another look at you. You helped them and they will remember this.

Something like 70% of jobs are filled by "a friend of a friend".

just make sure you have plenty of copies of your resume. You really are the one asking questions pertaining to the companies. Usally it's walking around to each booth and leaving your resume.
