Operations Manager

I need a little help here cause I was told and asked to be an Operations manager about a year ago. And I have this account that have us to load twenty five pallets on a 53" trailer. So I was in touch with the customer and our transportation crew takes the load so due to the customer print out the wrong information on the pallet tag. I had loaded the pallet up but when it's was time to make the bill the tag didn't work so I was forced to unload the truck and change the tags. So I had one of our drivers pull back into the dock and started unloading the trailer and the VP of transportation emails me and say that why did we miss the appointment that was scheduled at 2pm . But the delivery was not late cause of me so they wanted me to fill out and incident report and I replied that I don't believe that this is needed and she stated I make the decisions not you warehouse worker. So I don't understand if they gave me the title of Operations manager why would she say are call me a warehouse worker .

Wow, it sounds like you need to have a conversation with someone about ensuring that your responsibilities match your job title! Is there someone else you can go to besides the VP of Transportation to help you out with this? If you have the managerial title, you should have managerial decision-making powers!
