This noise is concerning me
I’ve been working in the unloading area of the warehouse for a few weeks. The job is real cool so far and I especially like the exercise I get carrying boxes and running around the warehouse picking orders all day. This week I noticed a clicking noise coming from my knees when I squat down or go up and down stairs. There’s no pain just the loud cracking noise. Anyone know what this is? One of the workers told me to buy knee supports or sleeves but I’m not sure if that’s going to help.

Hello Lee, I too have cracking knees also and I would invest in some knee pads or knee support sleeves that you can get at any drugstore. Also, give the vitamins or supplement Ultra Flex or ask a pharmacist. a try. If this just started you just want it to go away as soon as it can. So i wouldn't wait much longer because knee problems bite and they can lead to worst problems. Hope this Helps. Lisa Renwick

Doesn't sound like anything too serious if theres no pain. Drink plenty of water and take a multivitamin supplement. You can also try sleeves and support bands if they feel comfortable enough to wear all day but go to the doctor if the sound continues.

Do stretches and take at least one five minute break every two hours.

Hi Lee: I'd definitely take the advice of your coworker, especially if he or she has been there longer. I think it's essential to take care of your body when you're working a rigorous job. Try buying supportive braces, stretching before and after work, and setting up regular appointments with your doctor. Hope this advice helps!
I've been there Lee. The crackling noise is arthritis and clicking is likely to be spurs under the knee cap.
