How do i get Forklift certification?
I have several years of warehouse experience, picking and packing, material handling, Order selector but now every warehouse job require forklift experience.i've seen very few job postings saying they will train but rarely. How can I get forklift experience?

Some Tech schools offer it. On the job is better.

I don't live in Minnesota anymore, since June 2016

Most employers certify you at the place. Almost every warehouse will train someone if they have little or no experience. If you are talking about a certificate or license, there was a forklift operators union.
Good luck, and wear good shoes with ankle support.

Usually that cert. Is sight specific meaning you could get all the outside cerrs. you want but the particular company you go to work for may want to certify on there own. Basically, most companies will do that once you're hired on, regardless if you had cert. elsewhere or not.

A lot of times the place of your employment should have an OSHA person come in and test you to give your certificate ask your job about it that's how I received mine

Hi Evan. My name is Julio and I used to work for one of the big box. While working for them I became Power Equipment Instructor. There are two ways for you to get certify. One is through a private instructor or company dedicated to certify the people as " Power Equipment Operator" and the second one is through the unemployment agency of your area, which is a theorical class. I recommend the private instructor because they spend more time practicing. The power equipment class include: forklift, Cheery picker, pallet jack and reach ( also known as star war). Now the power equipment operator is giving by every company that need the operator. You can search OSHA. They offer a list of schools and instructors in your area. I hope this can help you to obtain your certification

Evan where do live I'm a certified forklift instructor I can teach you

You may want to check your State Employment Office? They may offer Forklift Certification training (for free..your tax dollars at work) or they can refer you to someone who can.

Take the test if the company which you are applying for has the means. If not just goggle a location that you can test and you might want to check out the costs for the test and also does the applying to company cover such costs.
If you have a criminal back ground most Re Entry places will fund you. However if you don't most charge 500 to get OSHA cert.
