Direct Applicants Beware!
I wonder why does a company post a position to multiple sights, a person goes through the entire interview process, waits for an offer only to be told the manager decided to hire contractors already in place??? Why even post the position? Offer it to said contractors and if they turn it down then post the position as available. #frustrated, #youwastedmytime
It may not feel "fair" - but unfortunately there is a "process" or "formality" that must be followed even if an employer already has chosen a candidate. That "process" involves posting ads, interviewing candidates and presenting top 3 to the people who actually sign off on the final 1 hire. I understand why you feel the way you do, but realize this "process" also wastes the company's time and resources. They too are frustrated. Believe it or not this happens a lot more than people even realize across many industries. And yeah it stinks - it is good to be aware of this - but don't let it stop you from applying to these types of jobs - the ones you don't will end up being the ones that are genuine opportunities for you to possibly be the 1 hire they are looking for. Keelia, I think your frustration is absolutely warranted. In the modern day American system people/ workers are used and bartered as common field chattel. However, corporate risks are higher and greater and unfortunately they will view their bottom line and never those of the modern day worker ever. I say you diversify and go the entrepreneural route.
