Hi David! I think Marcus's suggestion of checking out Job Corps is a FANTASTIC idea. I'm afraid he's right, to really get a good position you will need training or a GED. If you'd rather not do Job Corps, there are ways to take GED classes and take the test near you, and you can check that out here: http://www.tn.gov/workforce/topic/high-school-testing -- but I think Job Corps is the best choice for your right now.

I know of plenty of job opportunities in the Chattanooga,TN area currently hiring but all the jobs have a High School minimum requirement. I suggest you reach out to local career resource services for better job referrals. Contact the Tennessee Career Center at Chattanooga, 5600 Brainerd Road Suite A5, Chattanooga, TN 37411, 423-894-5354 and ask them about local employers who hire without min education requirements and also ask the counselors about adult education programs where you can earn while you learn. The workplace is changing dramatically and your going to need a High School diploma in order to compete for better jobs. Are you between ages (18-24)?
