So you think you can...dance?

I wanted to share this mother's AMAZING customer service experience that changed her son's day. "This evening I took my son to the grocery store with me. He was bouncing off the walls, unable to reign-in and control himself… But if there’s anything I’ve learned, real life has to happen. Groceries aren’t going to buy themselves. He almost ran into an employee...again. The employee rolled with it, pivoting easily to change his direction. I spoke with my son and said, 'Please pay attention. You almost ran into that guy.' Well, 'that guy' told me not to worry about it: 'It’s part of the job. We’re always dancing around customers.' 'So, it’s like one giant dance party?' I asked. My son stared at him in amazement. And that was it — DANCE PARTY, indeed. That guy called out to a few other employees who were stocking the frozen food and the next thing I knew… they were literally jammin’ out, bringin’ down the house in the middle of the frozen food isle. And then, invited my kid to dance along. At first, he was too shy. But after about 30 seconds of watching these two grown, awesome people rock-it-out, he started bustin’ a move himself. And they cheered him on. And my heart was glad: Glad to be at Trader Joe’s; Glad that these employees were awesome people; Glad that my child was getting his antsy-ness out in a fun way with positive reinforcement from these adults who will never know how thankful I am for their ability to turn a stressful moment into a fun memory.

So, what do you think? Were they awesome? How would you feel if this happened to you?

A good business like this with amazing customer service will ALWAYS be appreciated by people. I love shopping there. They make you feel valued and I think that is the most important thing.

I LOVE TRADER JOE'S! My son was adhd and he loved shopping with me at the Trader Joe's in Ga. The folks there did the same for him. Fast forward 10 years later, he got a PT job there. Forward 2 more years he goes into the Army for the next 20 years. Now retired Army he takes his sons to Trader Joe's, those people know how to put FUN into a frazzled mother's day and show a child how to make a fun project for their energy. The way they interact with children is AWESOME!

I bet the rest of your shopping went smooth after that. That is going beyond the job description to make customer's visit pleasant.
