How can I decline a job offer without permanently shutting the door?

I want to make sure I handle this professionally in case I need to reapply to the same company in the future.

Just make it clear in your written response " at this time I have to regretfully decline your offer due to unforeseen circumstances." Always be diplomatic!

Just say you haven't got all the skills they need.

Be straight forward. Make it 'perfectly clear' the ur genuinely interested in the company.... But just not at this time. Throughly research the company/job ....and add that info when u inquire about the possibility of a job in the future. It'll show ur interest in the company.

Send a thank you email as soon as you decide you're not going to accept the job. Don't wait for to much time to respond though.
