Opinions ??

If an interviewer asked how much your desired salary could be, should you say minimum wage so it doesn't seem like your asking for too much or should you say how much you really want? It may sound crazy but I honestly don't know what to say

Dear sunkissedkii, It depends on two things, first do you know the salary 'range' and secondly what stage of the interviewing process are you at. In other words, if they ask how much you desire, be honest, but lead with a question when you answer. For example: "Given my skills and experience how much can I expect?" If you think their answer is too low, answer by saying: "ok, but can I expect a salary review after 90 days? Or, what is your company policy in this area?" If you are in the first interview then say: "I would expect to be paid fairly." But, if you have already had a couple of interviews, and you are in your final interview, say: " Given that the salary range for this position is ____ to ____, and considering my skills fit the job criteria I would expect a figure in the upper realm of this range." This is the best time to negotiate.

It's not crazy. It's very common. First it depends on the job. Is a job you are staying at or really want, or is it something to get by for now. If it's one that you plan on staying at...a career, don't sell yourself short. Say how much do you want to get a month, or a year and know that before going into the interview. Look on line what that type of job pays. If it's for now or the summer, eh, throw the question back, what is this job paying? Regardless, make sure you do your job well.

Never understimate your WORTH. Tell them what you would like and explain how beneficial you would be to their establishment. Negotiate if necessary but make sure that YOU come out on top. Blessings!!

We talking salary or hourly ?? Hourly you should have an idea what you are applying for pay wise. Let them know you will start at entry level, it's more than minimum wage, you always get a pay adjustment every 90 days till you hit top pay for that position. Salary (NOT A CLUE). GOOD LUCK
