An F On My Report Card
so I have filled out many applications and two different companies had their HR people call me and tell me what a perfect fit I was for them, how my work history was perfect, and how they cannot wait to make me a part of their team until they do my background check, then nobody wants to hire me because I am a convicted felon. It wasn't for embezzlement, stealing money, or anything like that. My felony stems from a drug addiction. I completed my probation, have not been in any more trouble, have a wonderful work history with over 10 years experience in management but as soon as they see the word felon on my background check they're not willing to give me a chance. Granted I can understand where they're coming from but at the same time I'm not what's on a piece of paper. How can any felon expect to change their life if nobody's willing to give them a chance?
