Why would they donate these?
I sort donations at Goodwill and you wouldn’t believe some thing that are donated. Last week someone donated about 6 huge photo albums full of family photos! Like full baby pictures and school day photos all the way to graduation photos! It was weird seeing them since it was like seeing someone’s whole life play out thru them! I haven’t worked here forever but i guess this happens when people pass away and their family just doesn’t want to deal with sorting everything.. Its very sad sometimes.. Other times there are good donations that we can send to our district HQ to be sold online and meet our goals!

Well, I am thinking one of two things happened here. One, someone was cleaning house preparing for a move and the photos mistakenly got put into the box for denotations and not the box meant to go to the next house. (I just moved and did something similar). Or two, someone is cleaning out the house of someone who passed and no one stepped up to stake a claim on their belongings. Believe it or not someone may buy these photos as they can be used as a background to a greeting card or a meme artwork. Companies buy old photos like that. It's kind of sad so see that something someone once held so dear end up in a unwanted box. This is just further proof that it is the life of a loved one that is important, spend time with your family because in the end the "things" you worked long hours to purchase will one day end up in a box.

That is a bit odd but now a days, NOTHING surprises me anymore lolz

I used to work at the salvation army in ames iowa. We would get a lot of donations that was not appropriate to sell. We would get clothes that had holes and nasty sayings on them that we had to had to eat them out.

Chances are the photo albums came from either a mini storage auction, or after a home was either abandoned or the tenants fled. And yeah..after a divorce is fairly common as well. I really wish there was an online "pet registry" type of thing that folks could post a few group photos on...someone in one of the photos would likely recognize the others and be able to get the albums back to whoever owned them

maybe set aside since they may have been donated in error

I used to work at the salvation army in ames iowa, sometimes we would get alot of strange donations. It was interesting in going through the donations. We would get shirts that wasn't appropriate to sell.

How do I get a job at Goodwill?

Yep this happens a lot I used to run a local non profit thrift store. When family members pass away or realy bad divorce people donate whole house holds
