Staffing agency - might have a job- need help
Hello - yesterday I interviewed with a health insurance company (interview was set up by a staffing agency) and yesterday afternoon the staffing agency recruiter called me to say the insurance company wants to 'move forward' with background checks, etc. I received several emails afterward, all from the staffing agency, congratulating me on my new position, but I have no offer letter, pay rate, or even a start date with the insurance company. I emailed my recruiter asking him if there are benefits, if I'm employed by the staffing agency vs the insurance company. The description given was this was a contract job but no set time for the work duration. I haven't heard back from the recruiter, so I'm a little suspicious about this. Would you trust this staffing agency since? I have the feeling of the recruiter has his commission so he's moved on to the next person and forgotten about me.

hi stephanie I understand what you are going through. This internet BULLSHIT of finding a job Has only hurt hard working people . Jobpro. ziprecruit and all the other ones do nothing for you. I am out walking into every ma and pa business. to get an interview . In 3 days of doing this I have an person to person interview Good luck with agencies, BLISS

Greetings, Miss Roberts. In the absence of a letter of appointment from a prospective employer you are effectively unemployed,so you should continue as such, expanding your search, irrespective of what the staffing agency or anyone else says to you. Background checks by employers are simply indications of consideration or intent, subject to withdrawal. You still need a job.

OK Rachael, now is the time to start the negotiation for pay and any other employee benefits you need.

I have a cdl class b license and I’m looking for employment could please assist me

Hello Stephanie as a licensced accident and health insurance agent I've been through this several years.it moves pretty fast this timw a year as annual enrollment has already began in some states. Companies use staffing agencies to hire a couple hundred reps this time of year so unfortunatley they miss alot of things. Don't worry if you want the job be ready to start just do not expect to work past Dec 31st. Having being hired by several health insurance companies through staffing agencies for years during annual enrollment this is not new. If they expect you to get licensed best case scenario is you leave the company with a licensce. Best wishes.

Hi Stephanie,
Sometimes it does take awhile for the background check to finish. It could take up to 2-3 weeks maybe even more. It sounds like youre employed by the staffing agency, so your recruiter is the go to person for all information. Maybe after you clear the background check, they'll be able to give more information. Hope that helps.

The client-company doesn't pay the recruiter until the position is filled. Background checks can sometimes take several weeks. Hang loose for another week and then ping the recruiter.

Numbers game. Recruiters are cut throat. Keep looking.

I need a job snd am tired of the scsms
Good advice regarding an approach to "walk the streets". Unless you are willing to pay a specific recruiter based upon finding a "satisfactory" position, these web sites are nothing but a computerized resume mill. Be advised that many of your applications are NOT going to an employer, rather to a recruiter who adds you to his list of competing applicants. Most likely this phase is performed by a computer looking for key words. You could have on your resume that you have cured cancer, won two Super Bowls, and walked on the moon but without the key works your application goes into the trash. The next phase is to send (who knows how many) applications to the employer. Then the employer looks at all of the applications, including ones sent from other web sites in similar fashion. If you are lucky enough to be a needle in a hay stack you may land a position. This is especially true the higher up the ladder you want to go. The recruiters (and even some employers as they have contracts with the web sites) will persuade you stick with the program. Look for those that don't and insist on talking directly with either existing employees at a particular company, or the HR department. THIS WILL AT LEAST SEPERATE YOU FROM THE HERD.
