In a rut

I have been in a long bad streak of jobs, I recently was let go and a job I had for 8 years because the owner was paranoid and thought people were trying to steal his recipes. When I confronted him about it he got agitated and let me go. Ever since I’ve had a hard time finding a job where they don’t try to work you to death for nothing , or don’t challenge me. And I feel afraid to try something else all I’ve done is cook.

You should look into college, get more training to start a new career. You look like a young man you can start over with the proper training and do something new.

Hi John,

I so know how you feel, when you give a company your best, but sometimes we just don't get what we deserve in the final analogy. There are a lot of people out there that just don't trust anyone, and its unfortunate when the good honest people run into those types. But don't let it get you down, there is always something better waiting just around the corner. Keep in mind the fact you were with them for 8 years speaks volume for you abilities, and loyalty.

I suggest that when you list that job on your application or resume, and the question of why did you leave...just put something like owner lied you off due to a slow down in customers.

Never put anything pertaining to an employer accusing you of theft of any kind. When you go on the interview and they ask you to go into details then is when you can mention that the owner after 8 years of employment mental attitude seemed to have taking a shift and not for the better.I felt it was time to seek employment elsewhere.

Below please find a list of jobs in your field on Indeed. Just copy and paste the link.

Never worry about past events just hold your head high and keep your level of confidence, and know the Universal Powers, Infinite Intelligence ie God will never fail you for "He" is your Infinite Supplier. It sounds to me you were to good at what you do to be stuck in that job anyways!

Advertise yourself as a personal chef. Plenty of wealthy people hire them. Food truck anyone! Your options are endless. People have to eat and you cook....
