@Mia Y Welcome to Jobcase. I know it can be very frustrating applying to jobs and not receiving the response you had hoped. I have been in your position recently.

What I did was updated my resume using Canva. I also made sure to follow up with employers to make sure they had received my resume or if they interviewed me, I thanked them for their time. It took a while, but I finally was able to find a job. I hope things work out for you! Please reach out if you need any assistance.

@Mia Y, there are several possible factors but I would:

  • Review and possibly refine my resume. You want to be sure the information isn't aged, the format obsolete and it should highlight experience and skills relevant to the job. If I'm looking at a management position, I'm going to focus on my experience as a GM. If I'm applying for a driving position I'm going to use my history as a shuttle/cab driver, etc.
  • Rethink my job search parameters. Am I looking for the right job to match my skills or am I willing to expand my horizons and match my skills to something new?
  • Consider training for new skills being sought for a different job type. Depending on my area, I might even try the old fashioned method of walking in, introducing myself and asking to interview for a job. Just ask if the manager is willing to speak with you briefly then hone in on the request to interview. Present your best self!
