Did you know retailers are plotting to turn you away from online shopping?
Retail stores are desperately trying to lure customers away from online shopping. What would inspire you to do more in-store shopping? http://khon2.com/2015/12/08/what-local-retailers-are-doing-to-get-you-away-from-online-shopping-and-into-their-stores/

It only makes since to continue to have the shoppers' appearance in the store to buy what is there and to buy compulsively. That is the deal about marketing and structure placement of the product.
To help the customer see it, want it, and buy it.. TV commercialism has a positive effect on most of us.....

I would ask the cost omer what they were looking for today, andi would take her or him to that dept and assist the costomer with something that they said that they were interested in to get a closer idea of what they wanted to buy and maybe they would see something closer to what they wanted in the general pattern or style this to me is good customer service. To go over and beyond for the customer.
Many of the chain retail stores have employees that are not engaged in knowing where the product is located, or helping the customer locate the product. Home Depot is a good example of this. Retail Stores should have employees assigned to an area (Area Sales Supervisor). Their responsibility would be knowing every type of product sold in the area and insuring it is freshly stocked. The Area Sales Supervisor would be given a percent of sales bonus over a minimum of sales from the area on a monthly basis. Pride of stocking and sales ownership will motivate the retail floor staff to be customer helpful, insure the floor stocking is "fresh", and increase sales for the store. A customer does not get this type of service from a computer.
