Coming Out

The grass is not always greener on the other side

I thought I was going to be happy at my new job, but it has turn out to be a bit of disappointed to me. I have found myself hating to go, don't get my wrong the people are nice and the job is not hard but the problem is that it's at night and I am on my feet for always 11 hours or so. I have work night shift before but never have problems or dislike of the jobs like this one. I need the job to help pay my bills, but the funny thing I just don't want a job to pay my bill I would also would like a job I enjoy doing and going to. Being unhappy at this job has been life changing for me because I no longer enjoy life either, food and other things I like doing before. The job has become everything else even my love is suffering too. I need help bring back my joy while seeking for another job!!!

And because it is we have not broken up but that is okay because I am doing College part-time as soon as I finish and get my MBA that I can seek me a job paying twice as much as I'm making now but less hours so that is up and a downside to it but me why you need a distraction I will try Candy Crush download the app to the Play Store to take your mind off it and ask your partner if you are with somebody to please be patient with you because this job will not last forever this job at Amazon is only a stepping stone because nobody should be able to work these hours except somebody straight out of high school a teenager I am 51 years old and going on to my third occupation this will not included so keep your head up and don't want to put your hands together on her knees God bless

I know this feeling all too well and this is more common than you think. I spent 12 years at a previous job making a six-figure salary, however I was miserable and killing myself there. I avoided making any moves out of fear of what would come next, how much of a salary cut I would take, what kind of people I would be working for etc., so I just put up with it. The more I did, the more and more miserable I became. It affected my performance so bad that I eventually was let go, I stopped caring.

I took a job with a vendor company, I was screwed with a salary cut after being told my current salary “wouldn’t be a problem” but took it anyway. The job description almost identically matched the work I used to do, so it should have been an easy transition. What wound up happening is that I had no work to do for 2 1/2 months other than play a small role of an HR recruiter, something I did not sign up for. Other times I sat in my office with absolutely nothing to do and staring at the walls. It drove me crazy, I dreaded going there even though the people were very nice, and wound up quitting. I took two months off from work to fully recover, now I’m on the job search and although it’s taking some time, I know something good will come out of this. I have learned several lessons and am patiently going to wait for what’s best for me.

Sometimes u gotta fake it until u make it....It's hard to place your problems at the front door but attitude is everything...If u can try to b positive until u find another job then maybe Life won't seem so unbearable....There is a silver lining here....At least u have a job.....Just remember this is temporary....Good luck in all u do...

I’m all too familiar with this feeling and though my situation was far different from yours, the point is still the same. I hated one of my previous jobs that I was at for twelve years. Yes, twelve years to a point that it severely affected my mental and physical health resulting in therapy, stress management therapy, and three major surgeries, one of which I almost died from.

The most important thing to understand is that if/when you’re unhappy with something, you change it. Don’t expect things to get better and don’t talk yourself into being fearful and avoid getting out simply because you need the job to pay bills. You can work any job which will do the same, so you may as well find what makes you happy. It might not be easy but as long as you take action by changing things you don’t like, and things that are within your control it makes life easier to manage.

Don’t sacrifice yourself for any job who will replace you in a heartbeat.

Best of luck!

Totally understand I'm leaving a job after 1 1/2 tears of being unhappy. Taking a job at 40% less money because I don't want to dread going to work

OMG. Are you my job twin??. I'm also in the same situation. 12hours during the day. 7-7. On my feet for 11 hours or the whole shift. I hate going I even hate thinking about it. I left a night job 12 hours also. I wanted to be home at night. Now I would like to find another night shift 12 hours. I know I will be leaving this job because it's so stressful.

Because you need to find the perfect job for you. One that you wake up every morning excited to go to. Even years later. I had one of those. For me it's the medical field. Look for something that has always caught your interest. Something you love doing or learning about. Something you may even talk obsessively about. Then your on the right track. I hope you find that place your ment to be. Its worth it.
